The Gift of Mental Wellbeing: Strategies to Promote your own Mental Health
This lecture will share definitions of mental wellbeing and will present evidenced-based strategies to foster mental health. Attendees will learn about barriers to effectively cope with life stressors and will be presented with resources to increase awareness of mental health. Participants will also practice Self-Reflection as a strategy to promote self-efficacy for continued health.

Megan Chiarelli
Megan Chiarelli, MD grew up in Eastern Washington. Her medical education, residency, and fellowship brought her abroad, to the east coast, and now calls Pasadena, California home. Board certified in both general psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatry, she has worked with organizations across the nation evaluating their mental health need and advocating for wellness and education in communities and schools. Building upon the foundation she and Dr. Rentas have established in community and medical work, Dr. Chiarelli is excited to partner with our colleagues in animal medicine and the shared goals for healthy living.

Karen Rentas
Karen Rentas, PhD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and founder of Mindabble. Dr. Rentas is a leader in developing and advancing integrated care models between behavioral health and primary care. She is a published author for research that highlights the importance of universal behavioral health screening at primary care settings. She has worked both as a consultant and providing direct care to patients with complex medical and social needs. Dr. Rentas grew up in Puerto Rico and completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2011 from Carlos Albizu University in San Juan, PR.About MindabbleMindabble is a consulting group founded by two real-life experts when it comes to mental health and wellness- Dr. Karen Rentas and Dr. Megan Chiarelli. Dr. Rentas is a published researcher and licensed psychologist with her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Dr. Chiarelli has an MD Psychiatrist with board certifications in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. Mindabble was born out of a desire to support the veterinary profession. After Dr. Rentas and Dr. Chiarelli learned about some of the struggles within the profession, they both agreed to initiate efforts to improve wellness with evidence-based guidance. Dr. Rentas and Dr. Chiarelli are passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and are cheering for the wellbeing of all veterinary professionals.
