Pseudomonas sp. otitis is one the most challenging infections in veterinary medicine. It is a common cause of chronic otitis in dogs and is often complicated by perpetuating factors such as ulcerations, stenosis and calcification. This gram-negative bacillus can also complicate therapeutic eradication through the production of a protective biofilm. Learn the complete diagnostic and therapeutic roadmap to tackling this spooky organism including selection of appropriate ear flush ingredients, inflammation control, and topical and systemic (when necessary) antibiotics.

  • Learn the different diagnostic tests for identifying Pseudomonas sp.

  • Understand perpetuating factors and how they complicate treatment.

  • Learn which antibiotics are effective against Pseudomonas sp.

  • Understand the importance of ear flushing and how to address biofilm.
