Meet Your Professor

Noodle U 2024 Professor Odie Marcovici

A well-connected and respected veterinarian with an exceptional grasp of the profession thanks to more than 30 years of experience. The first half of the career was in clinical practice in almost all aspects of small animal medicine including opening and running multiple practice types (specialty, GP, ER, corporate, non-profit, adoption). The second half was at VCA, helping to create the recruiting department and recruiting every type of veterinary professional since. His current responsibilities include oversight of VCA's rotating internship programs and recruiting for its 150 internship positions. He has presented at all vet schools in the US and is a regular lecturer at schools globally. Having interviewed thousands of candidates he's tried to affect positive change in the profession one hire at a time. He is passionate about finding that perfect long-term hire and reducing the risk of hiring the wrong person. He coaches, trains and leads communication workshops across the US and Canada and having personally experienced the changes in the profession can speak both retrospectively and prospectively about the future of recruiting.
